Since 1970, Sharp Funeral Homes has been serving the families of Swartz Creek and surrounding communities including Flint, Flushing, Lennon, Rankin, Clio, Byron, Durand, and more. The funeral home was purchased by Roger Sharp and has been run by generations of the Sharp family ever since. Many of our staff at the Miller Road Chapel were born and raised in Swartz Creek, serving the families and neighbors they grew up with. After a devastating fire in 2018 that destroyed much of the building, the Miller Road Chapel was quickly redesigned and rebuilt to continue serving families the next year in 2019. Though unfortunate and unexpected, the destruction of the original building allowed us the opportunity to work with the team of J. Stuart Todd, renowned funeral home designer, on the aesthetics of the new building. Every inch of the building was designed with the comfort of families in mind and is completely handicap accessible. Regardless of whether burial or cremation is chosen, our funeral home in Swartz Creek is the perfect setting for both funeral and memorial services.
Even the most beautiful funeral home, however, would be nothing without a staff of hard working, compassionate and involved people. We are fortunate enough to have a group of amazing employees at our Swartz Creek funeral home who dedicate their time and hearts to the families of our community. In addition to local churches, many of our staff members are involved in other community organizations throughout Swartz Creek, Fenton, Linden, and Flint. A few of those organizations include the Swartz Creek Kiwanis Club, Swartz Creek City Council, Genesee County Alzheimer’s Association, Fenton Regional Chamber of Commerce, Swartz Creek AmVets and more. We enjoy being part of Genesee County and the community at large and are glad to serve it in every way possible.
