Includes: 24-hour staff accessibility; general and administrative expenses; arrangements conference; planning, supervising, and coordinating service details with those involved in the funeral service; securing, preparing, and filing necessary permits, certificates, authorizations, and consents; clerical work and record keeping. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with a viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.

B. Direct cremation with a container provided by the purchaser
PLEASE NOTE: In most areas of the country, state and local law does not require that you buy a container to surround the casket in the grave. However, many cemeteries require that you have such a container, so that the grave will not sink in. Either a grave liner or a burial vault will satisfy these requirements.

At the completion of the arrangement conference with the funeral director, you will be presented with a Statement of Funeral Goods and Services Selected, which is a contract between you and Sharp Funeral Homes. This Statement lists the services and merchandise we will provide for you, any cash advance items we have agreed to take care of on your behalf, and the terms of the payment you have chosen. You, or the parties responsible for payment, are required to sign this contract and this terms of payment form, and you will be given a copy.
There are often items on the Statement that are estimated, for instance newspaper notices, mileage charges and other items for which we do not have a final amount at the time of the arrangement conference. We will make an educated estimation of these charges; however, the total and final cost will be added to your final statement later and you are responsible for the final cost.
Payment is expected at the time of the arrangement conference. We accept the following methods of payment for selections you have made:
This price list is offered to comply with the Federal Trade Commission’s Trade Regulation Rule; Funeral Industry Practices 16 CFR Part 453. Our fees are established in consultation with a professional accounting firm, exclusively serving funeral homes.
Cash, Check and/or VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express are accepted for this payment.
You may assign an insurance policy to pay for the funeral home expenses. Insurance policies will be verified with the insurer, and information and signatures will be obtained from the beneficiary in order to assign the proceeds of the policy to Sharp Funeral Homes. If the insurance proceeds are less than the amount necessary to pay our bill, they will be applied toward the account, with the balance remaining the responsibility of the purchaser who signed the contract.
