William Schauwecker

April 20, 1932 — September 28, 2020

SCHAUWECKER, William - Age 88, of Fenton, died Monday, September 28, 2020.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Hope Lutheran Church, 7355 Silver Lake Road, Linden.  Pastor Paul Kollek officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.  Those desiring may make contributions to Lutheran World Relief.

William was born April 20, 1932 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, the son of George and Eva (Binder) Schauwecker.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Detroit and attended Wayne State University.  He married Karen Lee Cale February 5, 1966 in Dearborn Heights.  William retired in 1994 from Ford Motor Company after 42 years. He was a longtime resident of Plymouth, but spent the last 13 years living on Bennett Lake in Fenton.

Surviving are: his wife of 54 years, Karen; children, Gaby Weck of Germany, Eric Schauwecker of Fenton, Susan (Ben) Owen of Roanoke, VA, and Kristi Schauwecker of Plymouth; 6 grandchildren, Alexandria (Mike), Joseph, Stephen, Eleanor, Patrick, and Elliot; 2 great grandchildren, Jackson and Jordan; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister and brother-in-law, Eva and George Larking.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
