SALBENBLATT, William F. "Bill" - of Flushing, passed away, Wednesday, October 28, 2020. Funeral Services will be held 12PM Monday, November 2, 2020 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road. Live stream will be available to view on William's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. Visitation 2PM-8PM Sunday; and 10 AM until the time of service Monday. Interment at Flushing Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Bill's memory can be made to the Michigan Competing Band Association, Michigan Color Guard Circuit, Berner Garde or Heart of Michigan Bernese Mountain Dog Rescue. Bill was born September 3, 1953 in Saginaw, the son of William F. and May Leota "Grace" (Quinn) Salbenblatt. He married Rosalind M. Rockwell in Flushing on September 28, 1990. Bill graduated from Douglas McArthur High School in Saginaw and later Western Michigan University. He was a shop teacher at Oxford and Bridgeport Schools. He also was employed by the Saginaw Township DPW. Bill later was a school bus driver for Flushing Schools. He truly enjoyed, and was a well respected Judge, working with marching bands and winter guards for 42 years. Bill was a very active member of the Flushing Band Boosters, and head of the Pit Pops. He was instrumental in acquiring a semi truck for the Flushing Raider Marching Band and drove it to all events during his time with the Booster organization. Bill truly loved Bernese Mountain Dogs and was on the board of their club rescue organization. He did therapy work with his boy Ralphie and drafting with Sadie. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Bill handcrafted with love, an heirloom cradle for each of his daughters’ first born children. Bill is survived by: his wife of 30 years, Rosalind; daughters, Jacqueline (Morris Cummings) Rowley, Karen ( Robert III) Bell, Sarah (Ryan) Cudd; grandchildren, Cierra, Carson, Caden, Robert, Seth, Austin, Carly, Keegan, Kinsley, Axel; brother, Michael Salbenblatt; sisters-in-law, Teresa Walling, Rebecca (Myron) Erexson, Sherry (John) Wills, Barbara Brown; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Stephanie Munson, and brother-in-law Randy Walling. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com .
