James Binkley

BINKLEY James "Mike"  - Age 70 of Flint Township, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2022 at McLaren Hospital after a courageous battle.  The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, December 27 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at the Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc,  followed by a Memorial Service and Military Honors at 3:00 PM. A Masonic Service will be offered at 2:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Terry; children, Sandra Coulter of Flint, Chad (Cara) Binkley of Greenville, SC, Laura Garvey of Slidell, LA, and Joshua (Heather) Binkley of Dexter; grandchildren, Jay (Brittney) Gilbert, Peyton Binkley, Gage Binkley, Rebecca Inzina, Kody Garvey, Ashton Binkley, Aiden Binkley;  great-grandchildren; Hailey, Alaina, Zai, and Mya; siblings; Linda Sue (Phil) Smitley, Larry (Claudia) Binkley and Melba Wilson.  Brother-in-law, Mike Galonska. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  Mike was born on September 4, 1952 in Flint, Michigan to the late James Leonard and Vergilee (Book) Binkley.  He graduated from Southwestern High School before serving our country with the United States Marines.   He retired from General Motors in 1998 and later became the owner of Bink's Trapper Joes Food & Spirits in Burton, Michigan.  Mike was a member of the American Legion #822 and VFW Post #3087. He was also a member of the Morning Star Masonic Lodge #556, the Shrine Clown Unit, Grotto, and Hillbilly Clan #55.  He enjoyed fishing, sports and he cherished time spent with his family...especially his grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by daughter, Stephanie Harris; sister, Denise Galonska and brother-in-law, Paul Wilson.  Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mike to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
