George Funch

FUNCH, George John "Ward Cleaver" - age 95 of Fenton, died January 3, 2023. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday, January 9, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. George was born January 9, 1927 in Flint, the son of George and Vera (Borden) Funch, Sr. He married Shirley Mae Valley on August 23, 1947 and she preceded him in death on March 23, 2014. George was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp and retired from the City of Flint Fire Department. He enjoyed traveling, cruising, boating, camping and his family. Surviving are: three children, Ranae (Jerry) Willoughby of Linden, Marklin (Terry) Funch of Fenton, and Kindra Wright of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Steven Willoughby, Kerri Willoughby, David (Lisa) Funch, Robin Funch (Kevin Jernigan), Joshua (Elizabeth) Wright, and Wesley Wright; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Bryan, Kara, Tara, Madison, Jenna, Makayla, Conor and Jace; great great-grandchildren, Emberlee, Hadlee, and Kinsley; brother-in-law, Richard Turner; sisters-in-law, Theresa Valley and Mary Ann Valley.
