Daniel Charles GILBERT

GILBERT, Daniel Charles - age 77, of Grand Blanc, died January 16, 2014. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, January 20, 2014, at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek. Fr. Dan Kogut Celebrant. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Sunday with a Rosary at 7 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St. Linden, and Monday 10 AM until time of Mass at the church. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Linden. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice. Mr. Gilbert was born on March 24, 1936 in Flint, the son of Richard and Helen (Tunningley) Gilbert. He married Shirley A. Raschke on October 26, 1974 in Flint. Daniel was a 1954 graduate of Linden High School, a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. He owned and operated Gilbert Machinery for 25 years, prior to that he had been employed by Palmer Concrete and Catsman Cement. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and snowmobiling. Mr. Gilbert is survived by wife, Shirley; children, Daniel (Lisa) Gilbert, Yvonne (David) Salazar, Paul Gilbert, Cherie Gilbert, Kenneth Gilbert; 7 grandchildren, Ryan, Candace, Hannah, Nora, David, Alexander, Jonathan; great-granddaughter, Charlotte; brothers, Roger and Gary; sister Sharon Lampi; many nieces and nephews.
