Alan Morton

MORTON, Alan James - Age 69, of Waterford, died Sunday, February 27, 2022.  A memorial service will be held 3 PM Saturday, March 5, 2022 at St. Lukes United Methodist Church, 3980 Walton Blvd. Rochester Hills, MI.  A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly.  Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Alan was born February 17, 1953 in Glasgow, Scotland, the son of Peter and Margaret (Millar) Morton.  He was a 1972 graduate of Whittemore-Prescott High School and he had attended Michigan State University.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS John F. Kennedy.  He had been employed by William Beaumont Hospital; then was employed by Phillips Healthcare as a MRI Engineer.  Alan enjoyed hunting, fishing, hockey, soccer, and riding motorcycles.

Surviving are: his wife, Kathleen; children, Shannon E. Morton, Edward A. Morton, and William A. Morton all of Waterford; sisters, Rosetta (Rob) Nelson and Laura (Terry) Behrend both of West Branch; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Margaret Morton.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
