COFFEY, Zola Mae  Age 71, died Saturday, July 24, 2004 at her home in Fenton. Services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton with Elder J.C. Hager officiating. Interment will be held at Tyrone Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 1-4 and 6-9 PM Sunday and Monday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Mrs. Coffey was born June 12, 1933 in Lone Mountain, TN, the daughter of Robert Clarence and Gladys (Pollack) Shuemate. She married Jack Dempster Coffey on December 29, 1951 in Tennessee and he preceded her in death on May 16, 1998. She had resided in Fenton since 1957. Mrs. Coffey retired in 1980 from Fenton Convalescent Center where she worked for 12 years as a nurses aide. Her favorite pastime was playing bingo; she also enjoyed bluegrass festivals and was a member of the Michigan Bluegrass Association. Surviving are: son, John Coffey and wife, Julie of Fenton; daughter, Jacquelyn Jackie and husband, Kenneth Tyler of Flint; three granddaughters, Jessica, Janel and Jorie Coffey; three brothers, Robert Shuemate and wife, Jewell, Glenn Shuemate and wife, Susie, James Shuemate, all of TN; three sisters, Margaret and husband, Joe Smith, Helen and husband, Charles Wise, Eloise and husband, George Gordon, all of TN; many nieces and nephews.
