HACKETT, Zella - Age 82, of Fenton, died Friday, December 17, 2021 in Hobart, IN. A private family service will be held and a public memorial service will be held at later date. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Zella Hackett Memorial Fund.

Zella was born June 10, 1939 in Pineville, KY, the daughter of Andrew and Mary Magdaline (Denny) Smith. She was a 1959 graduate of Hartland High School and she received a Bachelor's Degree from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL. She married B. Duane Hackett June 19, 1965 in Flint and he preceded her in death January 26, 2001. Zella taught for the Flint School District, Howell Nazarene School, and Hartland Consolidated Schools. She was a member of Flint Central Church of the Nazarene. She also was a member of the former Hartland Christian Women's Club.

Surviving are her children, Tamara Bippus of Noblesville, IN, Kimberly Hackett of Hobart, IN, and Randall Hackett of Hartland, MI; grandchildren, Reagan Bippus, Isabella Bippus, Olivia Bippus, and Chelsea (Dan) Cole; great grandchildren, Jameson and Cillian Cole; brothers, Merle, Eddie, and Vernon Smith; sisters, Ann Glenn, Frieda Eicholtz, Carolyn Steiner, and Cathy Teggerdine; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Gwen Vernier. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
