Zane Ardary

ARDARY, Zane Leonard, Age 86, of Fenton, MI, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at his home in Fenton. Zane was preceded in death by his parents, Zane and Ethel; his first wife and mother of his children, Sue Stone Ardary; brother, Bill; sister, Mary Francis Hietbrink; and his eldest son, Mickey. He is survived by: wife, Cheryl Lee; sister, Nancy Plant; 3 sons, Bob, Jim, and David; 2 daughters, Debbie Hannah and Donna Haynes; 18 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Zane spent most of his career as a Chemical Engineer involved in research for the Development Division at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge. Accomplishments during his career included 6 patents being granted to Zane and his co-workers. After retirement, Zane enjoyed boating and hiking. He spent many days and nights along the Appalachian Trail. He also volunteered his free time at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, in the back country permit office, and with the Adopt-A-Trail program. Interment will be in Choate Cemetery in Cookeville, TN. A memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, MI 48430.
