Wilson W. Turnbow

March 4, 1922 — July 30, 2005

TURNBOW, Wilson W., age 83 formerly of Flint, died Saturday, July 30, 2005 in Holly Springs, Mississippi.  Mr. Turnbow was born March 4, 1922 in Arkansas.  He and Eunice Smith were married in Arkansas in 1942 and she preceded him in death in 1965. In 1998 he married Betty Medlin in Arkansas. He was a long time resident of the Flint area where he retired in 1987 from Chevrolet Mfg. after 36 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Signal Corps serving in WW II.  Mr.Turnbow was a member of the U.A.W. Local 659 and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving is his wife, Betty of Byhalia, Mississippi, 3 sons; Jesse Gerry (Darlene) Turnbow of Commerce, Georgia, Richard (Debi) Turnbow of Clio and Kennith (Catherine) Turnbow of Linden.  Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Patti (Joe) Cregar, Pam (Mike) Evans, Jennifer Turnbow, Trevor Turnbow, Tammy (David) Atkinson, Joan Turnbow; 4 step-grandchildren, Stacie Houseal, Emily Castle, Stephanie (Bobby) Maness, Charlie Medlin.  great-grandchildren, Mathew and Terri Cregar, Jessica, David and Becky Recker, Spencer and Andrew Atkinson. Step-great-grandchildren, Dylan Houseal, Timothy, Matthew and Brandon Evans.,  a brother, Marvin (Mary) Turnbow of Burton, 2 sisters, Frances(Raymond) Nelson of Byhalia, Mississippi and Betty Brown in Tennessee, In-laws, Donald (Patsy) Smith, Olivene (Carl) Diana, Mable Gant. 4 step-children; Ramona (Tommy) Castle, Phillip (Joyce), Johnny Medlin and James Medlin.   He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Ralph Turnbow, 3 sisters, Opal, Mattie, Ethel; a brother, Lloyd a great-grandson, Joseph Cregar, Jr.  Step-daughter, Michelle Medlin.  Visitation will be from 6 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at the Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. (Just South of Hill Rd.)   A graveside service with military honors  will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, Mt. Morris.
