Wilma Sweetin

SWEETIN, Wilma Marcella- Age 87, of Gaines, died Sunday, January 25, 2015. Funeral services will be held 1PM Tuesday, January27, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Burial will follow in Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5PM - 8PM Monday and 11Am until time of service Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Wilma was born in West Frankfort, IL on April 25, 1927, the daughter of the late Kelly and Elsie (McClerren) Hoover. She married Johnie Sweetin Sr. on February 8, 1946 in West Frankfort, IL, he preceded her in death on September 13, 2008. Wilma worked for the Flint General Hospital as an L.P.N. retiring in 1976 and was an active member of Central Church of the Nazarene. Mrs. Sweetin enjoyed working in her flower garden, cooking and oil painting. Surviving are; daughter, Myrna "Jill" (Mark) Cooper of OH; son, Johnie (Sheila) Sweetin Jr. of Gaines; 5 grandchildren, Jodie (Steve) Andrew of Flint Twp, Jennifer (Jeff) Carr of VA, Jamie (Alan) Johnston of Grand Blanc, Jeff (Kristina) Bundy of IL, Joy (Jeff Flint) Sweetin of Birch Run; 13 great grandchildren, A.J., Courtney, Brooklyn, Abby, Charlie, Sophia, Brock, Ethan, Maisey, Marcey, Mary Jo and Hope; brother Robert Hoover; sister Murlene "Chris" (Joe) Baksa; brother Carson (Kay) Hoover.
