KALAKAY, Wilma Mae (Bruckner) - Age 84, of Flint, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020. Memorial Mass will take place 11 AM, Thursday, December 31, 2020 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley St, Flint. Fr. Anthony Smela will officiate. Private services will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly at a later date. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make contributions to the Parkinson's Foundation or the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Wilma was born on December 23, 1936 in St. Ignace the daughter of Albert and Marie (Moody) Bruckner. She graduated from Bentley High School. Wilma and Robert Kalakay were united in marriage on September 7, 1957 in Flint. She would stay home to raise their 10 children. Wilma was a member of the St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Flint. She loved spending time with her family, children and grandchildren. Wilma enjoyed in her free time yard work and shopping.
She is survived by her 10 children, Kathleen (Mark) Gallagher, Julie (John) Schanick, Mark (Brenda) Kalakay, Teresa Block (Tyler Russman), Kenneth (Joanne) Kalakay, Christine (Paul) Young, Matthew (Brandy) Kalakay, Paul Kalakay (Lisa Hamilton), Anthony (Barbara) Kalakay and Timothy (Tammie) Kalakay; 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Mary Ann Sheppard and Dorothy Elkowitz.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kalakay; parents, Albert and Marie Bruckner; 2 brothers, Wilfred Bruckner and Walter Bruckner; and sister Patricia Mooney. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
