FRANCIS, Wilma Geraldine - Age 88, of Fenton, went to be in the loving arms of her savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday, December 8, 2016. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Tuesday From 3-8 PM where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 PM and at church Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Those desiring may make contributions to World Vision or St. John Catholic Church-Chapel Restoration. Wilma was born April 20, 1928 in Owosso, the daughter of Mark and Faith (Wykes) Sturgis. She was a 1947 graduate of Fenton High School. She married Noel M. Francis August 16, 1947 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton and he preceded her in death March 9, 2005. Wilma retired in 1982 from Citizens Bank after 27 years of service. She had resided in Fenton most of her life and had spent 18 years in Hot Springs Village in Arkansas during her retirement. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Loose Senior Citizen Center in Linden, and the Daughter's of the American Revolution. Wilma was quoted as saying, "Can you imagine anything greater than dancing with Jesus". She is survived by: daughter, Lynn (Gary) Rashleigh of Toledo, OH; son, Bradley (Christina) Francis of Gaines; daughter-in-law, Liz Francis of Brownsville, TX; grandchildren, Charles (Imelda) Rashleigh, Andrea (Michael) Bavineau, Angela (Joel) Anderson, Michael Francis, Monica Lape, Tim Rashleigh, and Jessica Francis; and great grandchildren, Michael Arteaga, Michaela and Matthew Arteaga-Francis, Michael J. Francis III, Ethan Noel, Madeline, Aiden, and Sofia Lape, Jack, Charlie, and Ellyn Rashleigh, Ryleigh and Cal Bavineau, and Lucas, Brandon, and Samuel Anderson. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael, grandson, Joshua Francis; sisters, Freda Burlingame, Lois Easton, and Ilene Howe. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Denise Fortune of Reverence Hospice, for her loving care given to our mother.
