Wilma Fitzer

FITZER, Wilma Irene - Age 86, of Fenton, formerly of Farmington Hills, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019.  Funeral Services will be 3 PM Friday, December 13, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 SIlver Lake Rd., Fenton.  Visitation will be 3-8 PM Thursday; and 1-3 PM Friday.  Those desiring may make contributions to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (A.S.P.C.A.) an organization Wilma was very passionate about and contributed to herself, often buying her holiday cards for friends and family from A.S.P.C.A.

Wilma was born February 6, 1933 in Toivola, MI the daughter of Wilho (Wm) and Hilma (Ketonen) Anttonen.  She was married to Douglas Lee Fitzer at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Detroit, MI on August 9, 1958.  Before settling into married life and beginning their family, Wilma was a Secretary with Chrysler Corporation.  Throughout life, Wilma loved nature, anything outdoors, bird watching, walking, and her well-manicured flower beds where you could find her beloved pet kitty cats or dog nearby.  Wilma & Doug took great delight in hosting an annual 4th of July gathering for as many dear friends and family as they could fit on their deck at Lake Shannon.  Wilma was a warm and happy homemaker with an infectious laugh that could be heard across the lake.

Surviving are: children, Sherri Lynn Fitzer of Fenton, Laurie Ann Stolnack of Hartland, Douglas Lee (Michelle) Fitzer, Jr. of Boca Raton, FL; and  grandchildren, Kyle, Logan, Drake, Brooklyn and Brinlee, all of Boca Raton, FL.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Douglas Fitzer, Sr. in July of 2018; and brother, William Anttonen. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
