DEARLOVE, William Harold "Sonny" - Age 92, of Burton, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc. Pastor Tim McKenzie officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-8 PM and Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Sonny was born July 12, 1930 in East Prarie, MO, the son of Lucian and Evelyn (Dodge) Dearlove. He served 2 years in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany; when he got out of the Army he followed his family to Michigan. He retired from GM Fisher Body Grand Blanc (The Tank Plant) after 30 plus years of service. Sonny worked skilled trades in tool & die and jigs & fixtures. He married Lois Ann Smith February 16, 1957 in Burton. He had resided in Burton since 1958 coming from Flint. Sonny loved fishing, the Detroit Tigers and having a garden.
Surviving are: his wife of 65 years, Lois; sons, James (Karen) Dearlove and Alan (Patty) Dearlove; grandchildren, Matt (Kelly) Dearlove, Tara (Jake) Shaw, Lexa Dearlove and Liam (Makinzie) Dearlove; great grandchildren, Caroline, Emma and Hazel; sisters, Naomi and Janice; and many nieces, nephews, and their children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bobby Dearlove; and sister, Maudie Burke. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
