Age 75, of Burton, died, October 7, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Visitation will be held 12 PM until the time of service Saturday. Those desiring to make contributions may do so to the National Carousel Association. Butch was born on July 19, 1944 in Flint, the son of Ivan and Naydean (Ball) Boedecker. He graduated from Ainsworth High School. Butch worked for General Motors UAW 659 for 34 years. In retirement he spent much of his time at Crossroads Village working as the carousel and Ferris wheel operator, blacksmith and played the part of Santa. Butch enjoyed Model Train Sets, fishing, classic cars, playing horse shoes, watching the Detroit Tigers and traveling to Zephyrhills, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Janet; two sons, Matthew Boedecker, Jonathan Boedecker (Jennifer Lewis); three siblings, Ed (wife Hazel, children Diana, Kristina, Kim, Kevin, Chip and Cory) Boedecker, Linda Gravitt (children Brian, Jamie and Marissa), Tim ( wife Rhonda, children Jessica and Tyler) Boedecker, and niece's Rhonda & Rayna. Plus many cousins, great nieces & nephews and friends; two special friends, Nigel Fox and Jim Peters; and pet dog, Sophie. Butch is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronald Boedecker.
