William Voakes

VOAKES, William Raymond - Age 56, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, September 11, 2017 at Oliver Woods Retirement Center. Services will be held 11 AM Friday, September 15, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Medical Team Hospice, 4400 Saginaw St # 1300, Flint, MI 48507. Mr. Voakes was born September 21, 1960 in Flint, the son of Kenneth and Sally (Oakley) Voakes. He married Brenda Leist on September 9, 1995. William enjoyed golfing and camping. He was an avid U of M Sports fan and enjoyed attending sporting events for his step-children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Surviving are: wife, Brenda; mother, Sally Voakes of Swartz Creek; four siblings, Kenneth (Tonya) Voakes of Grand Rapids, Joyce (Blair) Samuelson of Flint, Joseph (Karen) Voakes of Naperville, IL, and James (Andrea) Voakes of Mount Pleasant, SC; step-children, Danielle (Eric) Williams of Holly and Mandy (Derek) Rowlands of Davison; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
