TRAVILLIAN, William Joel - Age 74, of Swartz Creek, died Thursday, February 26, 2004 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held 2:30 PM Saturday, February 28, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastor Todd Regester and Pastor Malcolm Brown officiating. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1-4 and 6-9 PM Friday, and from 12 noon until time of service Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Hill Road Baptist Church. William was born November 9, 1929 in Flint the son of Melvin and Ruth (Owen) Travillian. He had resided in Swartz Creek since 1958 coming from Flint. He married Betty L. Alger April 24, 1950 in Napoleon, MI. He retired from Chevrolet Manufacturing as an electrician with 37 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the 3rd Avenue Baptist Church and was currently attending Hill Road Baptist Church. He also was a member of the D.A.V., U.A.W. Local 659 and was an avid gardener and fisherman. Surviving are: wife, Betty L.; daughter, Linda D. and husband Jon Scott of Flint; 2 grandchildren, Sarah P. and husband Dan Taylor of Liverpool, NY; Steven Tomlinson of Flint; great-granddaughter, Anastasia D. Taylor; 2 step-grandchildren, Richard and Michael Scott; brother Robert and wife Mary Travillian of Florence, AL; 3 nephews, Vernon Lee and Dwight Alger and William R. Travillian; niece, Lisa Travillian; brothers-in-law, Vernon and wife Zola Alger of Hastings, MI, Harold Alger of Brooklyn, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents.
