William Schack

Schack, William Arthur - Age 94, of Flint, died September 14, 2017. Funeral services will be held 12 PM Tuesday, September 19 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Flint. Visitation will be held 12-2 PM and 4-8 PM Monday, and from 11AM Tuesday until the time of service. Committal services at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions to the Salvation Army. William was born March 29, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY the son of William and Catherine (Osterman) Schack. He married Jean Cameron Dale on August 4, 1951; she preceded him in death December 19, 2009. William was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the USS North Carolina in WWII. He retired as Lieutenant with the Flint Fire Department. William and his wife Jean wintered in Florida together for over 30 years. He was active in the Fireman's picnic, MDA, and Eastside Senior Center. William was a die hard Detroit Tigers and MSU Spartans fan. He was proud to attend the Honor Flight in Washington DC. William is survived by his daughter, Mary Sain; daughter-in-law, Marsha Schack; brother, Edward Schack; grandchildren, Stephanie Sain, Brandon Sain, William Schack, Matthew Schack; 2 great-grandchildren; many friends, and his friends at the Kearsley Daly Villa. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean; sister, Dorothy Bulzomi; son, William Schack. Special thanks for the care he received from Reverence Hospice.
