MECHALKO, William - age 83, of Gladwin, died Friday, April 20, 2018. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will be held 10 AM - 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the National Audubon Society (www.audubon.org). William was born August 10, 1934 in Dearborn, the son of Charles and Olga (Wytowich) Mechalko. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and married Loretta Storm on September 3, 1955. William retired from Ford Motor Company in 1991. Surviving are: wife, Loretta of Gladwin; three children, Susan (Timothy) Cruse of Howell, Steven (Cindy) Mechalko of South Lyon, and Julie Kanable of West Bloomfield; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, John (Joyce) Mechalko of Dearborn Heights. His sister, Dorothy Gawyrluk preceded him in death. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
