William Ledger Sr.

LEDGER, William John Sr. - Age 84 , of Fenton, died February 4, 2017. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Thursday, February 9 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Wednesday, 11 - 12 Noon Thursday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. William was born April 27, 1932 in Pontiac the son of John E. Bessie A. (O'Rourke) Ledger. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in Korea. He was married to Petronella Jong on September 23, 1955 in Amsterdam, Holland; she preceded him in death January 25, 2004. He was married to Marjean Teatro on August 19, 2006 in Fenton. He was a farmer in younger years. He worked for Valassis Printing as the machine shop supervisor retiring in 1992. William was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fenton. He was a member of the D.A.V. Chapter 3, and V.F.W. Post 3243 of Fenton. He enjoyed building his own airplane and flying it. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. He had been a professional wrestler and drove stunt racecars. He enjoyed camping and fishing. Surviving are: wife Marjean; children, Deborah Johns of Tyrone Township, Ruth Ann (William) McDonald of Holly, William Ledger Jr. of Connecticut, Lauren (Ryan) Coleman of Kansas; son-in-law, Chris Harding of Highland; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jacqueline Nichols, Karolyn Apple, both of Pontiac, James (Lorraine) Ledger of Auburn Hills; several nieces and nephews.
