KIRBY, William Hugh Jr. - Age 80, formerly of Flint, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at his home in Black River, MI. He was born in Jackson, TN, the son of William Hugh and Vera Grace (Singleton) Kirby. He married Betty Ford in Flint in 1980. Mr. Kirby retired from Chevrolet Motor Division in 1980 after 32 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed the out of doors, especially hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife Betty; 1 son, Robert Kirby and wife Debbie; 1 daughter, Melodie Harger; 1 step-son, Jim Sprouse and wife Marsha; 2 step-daughters, Angie Skerjance and husband Jim and Wendy Webb and husband Timothy. Further survivors include 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Edith Wheeler, Geraldine Wallace, Vera Jane Kennon and Irene Bolton; 1 brother, Tom Kerby. Mr. Kirby was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Victoria Dunlap; a step-son, Barry Sprouse; 1 sister and 2 brothers. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 10, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. Pastor Dale Patee will officiate with burial to follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
