William Jones

JONES, William Thomas - Age 87, of Flint, died Tuesday May 18, 2021. Funeral services will be held 1PM Tuesday, May 25, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Rev. Dr. Brandon Hempel, DMIN officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park, Mt, Morris. Visitation will be held 11AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. William was born May 4, 1934 in Flint, the son of Irving Henry and Velma Louise (Shurter) Jones. William served in the National Guard and retired from General Motors, Chevrolet Plant with over 20 years of service. Mr. Jones enjoyed fishing, traveling out west, spending time with his family and was always looking for a "good deal". William was a past member of the Flint motorcycle club. Surviving are: children, Mark Jones of Otisville, Mary Kim (Steve) Betterly of Eaton Rapids, Robin (Al) Chapman of Lansing, Lezlea Jones of Battle Creek, Tracy Moses of Decatur, Shannon (Carolann ) Jones of FL; grandchildren, Stacey Dean, Sara Betterly, Amanda Todd, Tony Jones, Jessica Kachoul, Mark Jones, Matthew Chapman, Michael Chapman, Alicia Anschuetz, Adam Moses; and 16 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, JoAnne Ringwelski of Swartz Creek; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Velma Jones; son, Tony Jones; grandchildren, Stephanie Betterly, Zachary Chapman and great grandson, Owen Moses.
