William Jarman

Jarman, William "Bill" - Age 78, of Linden, passed away peacefully in early morning hours of Wednesday, September 27, 2017. He was born September 21, 1939, one of four children, to Samuel and Lillian Jarman in Clarksville, Tennessee. Bill grew up in the Flint, Michigan area, where he graduated from Flint Beecher High School and married Barbara K. Mills (nee) Church and raised two sons. He retired from General Motors in Flint after 38 years of service. Bill was an early riser who enjoyed the simple things in life. He could be seen just about any morning at a local diner or convenience store filling up his mug with a simple brew of black coffee and picking up a daily paper. He enjoyed his retirement doing what he loved. Whether it was a road trip to the northeastern states for the autumn spray of brilliant foliage, a winter spent fishing in Florida or planting a huge summer vegetable garden and giving all he grew away to his neighbors. His biggest passion was the game of golf. Bill was an avid golfer, who spent countless hours out on the course playing and volunteering for various tournaments. However, nothing compared to the time he got to spend with his grandchildren, especially attending their various sporting events and activities. Bill is survived by sons, Bryan and Brent Jarman; brother, Jim Jarman; sister, Mary Patterson; grandchildren, Brooks, Rachel and Joseph Jarman and several nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Glen Jarman; niece, Jackie Pickleman and grandson, Jacob Jarman. Funeral services will be held 2pm on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel. 1000 Silver Lake Road,. The family welcomes friends and loved ones for visitation on Friday from 6pm-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Saint Jude's Hospital or to the Wounded Warrior Project in the memory of William C Jarman.
