William Hughes Clark

CLARK, William Hughes "Bill" - Age 87, of Linden, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023.  Services will be held 12:30 PM Thursday, October 19, 2023at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, followed by a Call to Duty Service held under the auspices of the Army National Guard.  Pastor Michael Jackman officiating.  Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 4-8 PM.  Those desiring may make contributions to Grace Missionary Baptist Church, 878 Milford Road, Holly, MI 48442.  

Bill was born July 7, 1936 in Marion, KY, the son of Gilbert and Rubena Isabelle (Hughes) Clark.  He was a 1954 graduate of Detroit Eastern High School.  He married Peggy Lynn Reeve July 8, 1974 in Pontiac.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  Bill retired from the Army National Guard after 42.9 years of service.  

Surviving are: his wife, Peggy; children, David (Katherine) Clark of Yale, Phyllis Clark of Marion, KY, Brenda Miller of Linden and Douglas (Renea) Stevens of Madison Heights; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; brother, Wendell (Cheryl) Clark of Royal Oak; and several nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Norma Clark; son, John Clark; brothers, Robert and Lonnie Clark and son-in-law, David Miller.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
