HIMMELBERGER, William Leo - Age 92, of Flint Township, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Avalon Hospice. Services will be 11AM Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Flushing Presbyterian Church, 5010 N. McKinley, Flushing, Rev. Teresa Peterson officiating. The family will receive friends 10AM Tuesday until time of service at church. Memorial contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice. William was born May 15, 1916 in Lexington, KY, the son of the late Dr. Leo and Cora Himmelberger. He graduated from Flint Central High School in 1934 and attended Albion College. He then joined the U.S. Army where he was in Patton's Army. William met his wife, Anna during their service time and they were married September 15, 1943 in Georgia. He later graduated from Michigan State University with an Accounting Degree, and went to work for Dupuis and Ryden, and then Motor Holdings, retiring in the early 80s. He was a member of Flushing Presbyterian Church. He is survived by niece, Martha Hamp and husband Michael; sister-in-law, Dorothy Himmelberger; grandnephews, James, Jonathan and Peter; grandniece, Mary Kang and husband, Albert; as well as great-grandniece Isabelle Kang; and great-grandnephew, Andrew Kang. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna in 2007, and brother, Richard Himmelberger in 1989. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek.
