William J. HAYES

HAYES, William Joseph ï¿Â½" of Davison, age 80, died Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Genesys Health Park, Grand Blanc. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 West Silver Lake Road, Fenton. The family will receive friends from 12noon until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Bill was born January 16, 1929 in New York City, the son of William P. and Anne Alice (Murphy) Hayes. He was predeceased by his sister Eileen. Beloved father of Bill (Margaret) Hayes, Anne Marie (Al) Cibulak, Eileen (Tim) Truckle and John (Charlene) Hayes, all of Toronto. He had 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He'll be fondly missed by Barbara G. Hayes, Susan Yeotis and family. Bill was a law graduate of NYU having been awarded a Juris Doctor degree. A proud Marine, Bill was the youngest sergeant in Marine Corps history. Bill happily spent the last 45 years of his life in Flint and was a member of the Michigan and Genesee County Bar for over 40 years. Bill was the oldest practicing attorney in the Genesee County at the time of his death. Clients and fellow attorneys will forever remember Bill's legal abilities, his well turned sense of humor, and especially his drawings and caricatures.
