William Harmon

HARMON, William Eugene- Age 72, of Flint, passed away April 1, 2017 at the V.A. Hospital in Saginaw. Committal Service with Military Honors will be held 10:30 AM Friday May 26,2017 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. William was born December 21, 1944 in Flint, the son of the late William and Mary Ellen (Keen) Harmon. He is a United States Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He married Laura J. (Thomas) Jackson in Flint on August 19, 2002. William loved old country music, mostly Waylon Jennings, loved singing, was an avid gardener, and was a jokester. He loved his family and friends deeply. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Laura; children, Tracey Tanner of Grand Rapids and Christine (Korey) Tanner of Indiana; three grandsons; three granddaughters, and three stepchildren; Bill and Rick Jackson of Flint, Angela Gallety (Charlie) of Flint; ten step-grandchildren; sisters Mavis (Verlin) Ray, JoEllen Root, and Norma Bost; half sisters, Alberta Martinez and Carolina Cook of Florida. William was preceded in death by brothers, Frank and James Harmon; sisters, Edna and Nadine; granddaughters, Kyah Tanner and Sarah Jackson.Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
