William Curtis Fitch

FITCH, William Curtis  Age 63, of Gaines, died Monday, September 19, 2005 at University Hospitals after a brave fight with lung transplant complications. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, September 24, 2005 at St. Robert Catholic Church, 310 N. Cherry St., Flushing with Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday and Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, where a scripture service will be held 7 PM Friday evening. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Transplant Program of University of Michigan, 301 E. Liberty St., Suite 400, Ann Arbor, MI 48104William was born June 19, 1942 in Detroit, the son of Curtis James and Regina Inez (Logsdon) Fitch. He married Kathleen L. Brandtner on February 1, 1964 in Roseville, MI. William retired from General Motors in 2004 for health reasons after 34 years of service and was a member of U.A.W. Local #599. He was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening and woodcarving in his spare time. Surviving are: wife, Kathleen; five children, Colleen and husband, John Wracan of Vernon, Lori and husband, David Gatica of Mt. Morris, Denise and husband, Jim Robinson of Flushing, Curtis Fitch and wife, Melissa of Swartz Creek, Kyle Fitch of Gaines; 13 grandchildren, Nicholas, Michael, Margaret, Ryan, Chelsea, Valerie, David, Joshua, Anthony, Samantha, Kathleen, Vanessa, and Cassandra; brother, James Fitch and wife, Patricia of New Haven; sister, Regina and husband, Vernon Mathews of Roseville; father-in-law, Harold Brandtner.
