ELLER, William John - age 73, of Fenton, died Saturday, August 12, 2006 at his residence. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, September 9, 2006 at First Presbyterian Church of Fenton with Pastor Dale Swihart officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. William was born April 20, 1933 in Muskegon, the son of William and Gertrude (Koekkoek) Eller. Bill was a graduate of Muskegon High School and Kalamazoo College where he played football. He was a self-employed business man in construction his entire life, most recently owning Tri-City Construction. Bill was extremely active in the community. He was a past City of Fenton Councilman, past member of the City of Fenton Planning Commission. He served as the director of Genesee County Economic Development Corp. He was a member of Fenton Kiwanis Club, Fenton Chamber of Commerce, Genesee County Insight Advisory Board, Past-President of Fenton Optimist Club, Past Director of the Christian Convalescent Home for the Aged. Bill was an ordained deacon and member of First Presbyterian Church of Fenton. He was instrumental in building the Fenton Little League baseball diamonds and was very active in the Boy Scouts of America. Bill was a 32 year member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was very active as an alcohol  counselor up until his death. Bill loved golfing, hunting, fishing and singing. Surviving are: wife, Marlene; daughter, Lori Coleman of Linden; son, William John III and wife, Kerri of Fenton; four grandchildren, Sonja, Ashley, Hunter and Keegan; great-grandson, Derek; sister, Jean and husband, Bill Hecht of Saranac; special family members, Ernest (Pat) Medema, Jean Nummerdor, Joni (Harvey) Beauchamp, Muriel Medema, all of Muskegon; many special sons, Curt Rollins, John Bacon, Larry and Garry Marme; many nieces and nephews.
