DAYTON, William "Bill" - Age 77, of Swartz Creek, passed away Friday, June 5, 2009. Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, June 8, 2009 from Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Bill was born in Alma, the son of Merwin and Arlene (Warner) Dayton. He had been a Broadcast Engineer for WJRT, Channel 12 for 30 years, retiring in 1994. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Korea; was a lifetime member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers; and an Amateur Radio and Amateur Astronomy enthusiast. Bill is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Swartz Creek; sister, Katherine (Dale) Staley of Burton; brother, James (Colleen) Dayton, of New York; children, Michael (Shawn) Emerson of Swartz Creek, Robert (Terry) Emerson of Flint, Debra Mathews of Swartz Creek, Kathleen (David) Pound of Houghton Lake; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
