COWAN, William R.T. - Age 86, of Linden, died Saturday, September 19, 2020. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. The service will be live streamed and may be viewed by visiting his obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial immediately following at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Monday from 4-8 PM and at church Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home Monday at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. William was born April 30, 1934 in Flint, the son of Everitt M. and Madelon E. (Teachout) Cowan. He was a 1954 graduate of Mandeville High School and attended Leelanau School for Boys. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He married Rose Ann Andry November 21, 1964 in Linden. William was employed as a Senior Marketing Consultant for Consumers Energy retiring in 1990. He had resided in the Linden area for most of his life. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and the Lake Fenton Sailing Club. He enjoyed sailing, golfing, ice boating, but most of all spending time with his family. He also loved animals. William won the 1948 Flint Soap Box Derby. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Ascension at Home Hospice, especially Lizzie, Julie, Bob; Dr. Michael Zerafa, MD; and Halie Backman. Surviving are his wife, Rose Ann; children, Tammy (Albert) Gramer of Linden, Jennifer (Douglas) Bradley of Novi, William (Dawn) Cowan of Linden, and Christopher (Jennifer) Cowan of Bolingbrook, IL; grandchildren, Albert (Cortney) Gramer, Jr, Ellie (Dustin) Adams, Bethany (Patrick) Crunk, Matthew (Sarah) Gramer, Andrew Bradley, Connor Bradley, Kennedy Cowan, Paxton Cowan, Keira Cowan, and Dillon Cowan; great grandchildren, Jack, Owen, Sophia, Genevieve, Evalyn, and Colton; and many nieces and nephews.
