BRABON, William Alton - age 86, of Fenton, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Courtyard Manor of Fenton. Services will be held 11 AM Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton with Pastor Jeff Jaggers officiating. Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Fenton. Visitation will be held 12-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. Mr. Brabon was born January 6, 1929 in Fenton, the son of Elsworth Lewis and Thelma Elizabeth (Currin) Brabon. He was a graduate of Fenton High School. Mr. Brabon married Lucille Marie Hubert on January 23, 1953 and she preceded him in death on June 8, 1996. He retired from the State of Michigan Highway Department where he was very involved in building the State Parks. Mr. Brabon was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War and was active in the Fenton VFW Curtis Wolverton Post 3243 Honor Guard and the State of Michigan VFW Honor Guard. He was an avid University of Michigan Football fan and enjoyed golfing and baseball. Surviving are: four children, Teresa (Wayne) Hamilton of Flint, Scott Brabon of Fenton, Christine (Kim) Day of Fenton, Rachel (Bob) Oligney of Flushing; eight grandchildren, Jaynie Caszatt, Faith (Mike) Striler, Keely Wetzel, Cassandra Brabon, Rob Oligney, Amanda (Jake) Meadows, Sandi Oligney, and Kelly Day; one great-grandson, Jonathan Striler; fiancee of 12 years, Maureen Simiar.
