WHYBARK, William Carl "Bill", Age 93, of Swartz Creek. With sorrow for what we lost, and joy for what we had, we announce the passing of William Carl "Bill" Whybark. Bill was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He passed away on August 1, 2024, in Swartz Creek, Michigan, surrounded by his friends and family.
Born in Flint, Michigan, in 1930, Bill leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years, Therese June Roddy, and his three children, Lisa Beauvais (Phil), William Christopher Whybark, and Matthew (Marie) Whybark. Bill was a proud grandfather to Angie Field (Jared), Philip Beauvais (Alex), Sara Whybark and Betsy Whybark, and adored his great-grandchildren, Gideon, Alice, and Annabella; sister, Virginia Haight. He was preceded in death by his father, James; his mother, Helen; and his brother, Roy.
A graduate of Burton (MI) Bendle High School, Bill served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps for three years. After leaving military service,he dedicated 37 years of his life working security for General Motors in Flint.
Bill was an avid boxer and outdoorsman in his youth, Bill never lost his passion for the outdoors and sports. His love for gardening and Detroit sports, particularly his beloved Detroit Tigers, brought him tremendous joy throughout his life. Later in his life he became active in AA.
A memorial service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at the Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024 (The service will be live streamed and can be viewed via the link on Mr. Whybark's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Friends and family are invited to visitation prior to the service starting at 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
