William Bacon

October 13, 1946 — February 2, 2015

BACON, William (Bill) Thomas, -- Age 68 of Byron, died February 2, 2015. Services will be held 3PM Thursday, February 12 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Wes Morris of The Rock Church in Fenton officiating. Visitation will be held 11AM until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS. 66675 or Michigan Bear Hunters Association or Michigan United Conservation Club. Mr. Bacon was born October 13, 1946 in Chippewa Falls Wisconsin, the son of the late Robert G. and Arlene Ella (Pfahler) Bacon. He married Kathy Kennaday in Pontiac on May 3, 1969. Bill was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and tying fish flies. He served his country in the Army and was in the 82nd Airborne Division, stationed in Germany, during the Vietnam War. Bill retired from GM, working at both the Flint Metal Fab and Lansing Metal Fab plant 3 with 30 years of service. Surviving are: wife, Kathy of Byron; children, William Robert Bacon of Howell; Wendy (Justin) Vriesman of Lowell; Steven (Amanda) Bacon of Byron; five grandchildren, Jordyn, Emerson, Skylar, Shiann, Shayla; twin brother, Robert G.(Linda) Bacon Jr. of Byron; sisters, Jackie (Dale) Bailey of Evart, MI, Terri Brown of IN; brother-in-law, Terry Johnson of FL; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Gabriel; sister, Sharon Johnson; brother, Doug Bacon. Online condolences may be posted on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
