William Joseph BACIK Sr.

BACIK, William Joseph Sr., age 94, of Durand, passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30AM Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 700 Columbia Dr., Durand. Fr. Jeffrey Poll celebrant. The family will receive friends 9:30AM until time of Mass at Church. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Gaines. Visitation will be 6:00- 8:00PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. A rosary will be prayed 7:00PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Thomas Aquinas College, Santa Paula, CA or Memorial Healthcare Hospice. William was born August 17, 1918 in Detroit the son of the late Joseph and Reginia (Jordan) Bacik. He married Rachel Sheffler on July 16, 1942. Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Rachel of Durand; son William J. Bacik Jr. and wife, Marian; 9 grand children, Christopher (Margo), Anne Marie, Rebecca (Michael), Mary (David), Stephanie (William Russell), Catherine, Andrew, James, Joseph;12 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Newburger of Royal Oak; several nieces and nephews.
