Wilbur Foster

FOSTER, Wilbur A. - of Flint, age 92, peacefully passed away December 16, 2020. Funeral service will take place 1 PM, Monday, December 21, 2020 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastor Rob King will officiate with burial following in Sunset Hills. Service will be live-streamed on our website at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. Visitation will take place from 1 PM to 5 PM Sunday and again 12 PM until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Foster was born on November 24, 1928 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Angus and Alma (Welhalf) Foster. He graduated from Flint Tech High School in 1947. Wilbur and Mary Lou Farrand were united in marriage on May 22, 1948. He retired as a skilled trades Pipe Fitter from General Motors in 1991. Prior to General Motors, Wilbur was employed at the railroad and Ternstedt. He raised his family in two homes that he built with his own hands. Wilbur enjoyed watching and attending baseball games. He was an avid reader of the Bible and attended Trinity Assembly of God. Wilbur loved music and motorcycles. He looked forward to family game nights and he will be greatly missed.

Wilbur is survived by his children, Karen (Lloyd) Rowell, Rebecca Lawrence, Vicki (Ronald) Waterman, Kathy (Jeffrey) Bowen and Dennis Foster; six grandchildren, thirteen  great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren, and his brother, Sidney Foster.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary Lou, and his brothers, Gus and Art Foster.
