Wesley Gillies

GILLIES, Wesley Clayton - Age 65, of Clio, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at his residence. Funeral service will take place 6 PM, Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc. Pastor Nick Worden will preside. Visitation will take place Tuesday from 1 PM until the funeral at 6 PM. Cremation will follow. A private committal will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. In lieu of flowers those desiring may direct contributions to the Clio Youth Sports Complex.

Wesley was born on January 31, 1958 in Flint, the son of the late Ronald and Norma (Raub) Gillies. He graduated from Grand Blanc High School, class of 1976. Wesley worked for GM Buick City for 19 years before his retirement. He and Lorelie Smeby were united in marriage on November 21, 1995 in Las Vegas. Wesley was humorous and a "Big Kid" at heart and was loved by everyone who met him. He loved spending time with his family and loved cheering on his grandchildren playing sports. Wesley was an avid classic car and motorcycle enthusiast, he and Lori would ride for miles on their motorcycles. He was a member of the former Shiawassee Hog Chapter and former Road Captain and member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church and former lay minister.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lorelie; children, Matthew (Erika) Gillies and Lindsay Gillies; grandchildren, Jackson and Charlotte; siblings, Michael (Sharon) Gillies and Randall Gillies; and nieces and nephews, Chad (Dara), Katie, Jessie and Jake (Emma).
