June 16, 1925 — November 9, 2004

OWENS, Wayne E.  Age 79, of Fenton and Dade City, FL, died Tuesday, November 9, 2004 in Florida.  Funeral Services will be 2 PM Saturday, November 13, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton with Jack Capehart officiating.  Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Linden.  Visitation will be held 12-9 PM Friday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Hernando Pasco Hospice, 7066 Fort King Hwy, Zephyrhills, FL 33540.  Mr. Owens was born June 16, 1925 in Toledo, OH, the son of Melvin and Erica (Eichelberg) Owens.  He married Judith Lee Stoddard on October 30, 1970 in Atlas, MI and was a resident of Byron for 35 years until 1996 when he moved to Fenton.  He was a beverage salesman for Auto City Distributing Co. for 28 years having retired in 1982.  He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII in the Seabees.  He was a lifetime member of the VFW Curtis Wolverton Post 3243 in Fenton, the Fenton Moose Lodge, and the Teamsters Union.  Mr. Owen is survived by: wife Judy; seven children, Gary Owens and wife Janell, Jerry Owens and wife Penny, Sandy Florkowski and husband Gary, all of Byron, Wayne Owens and wife Jana of Huntsville, TX, Belinda Owens of Montana, Melvin Owens and wife Fashen of Swartz Creek, Susan Capehart and husband Bob of Laingsburg; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.  Mr. Owens was preceded in death by:  his parents; first wife, Evelyn Louise Hoover; granddaughter, Denise Owens; grandson, Michael Florkowski.  Friends may share an online condolence or post a tribute for the family at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
