MORSE, Wayne Richard - Age 81, of Gaines, died Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Caretel Inns of Linden. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, October 6, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 9450 Duffield Rd., Gaines. Fr. Robert McKeon celebrant. Visitation will be held 11-2 & 4-8 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek and from 10 AM until the time of Mass Thursday at the church. A rosary and 4th Degree Knights presentation will be held 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Childrens Hospital or St. Joseph Catholic Church. Wayne was born December 12, 1929 in Argentine Twp., the son of Claude and Ruth (Bowman) Morse. He was married to Joan Nora Stevenson on January 6, 1951 in Angola, IN. Mr. Morse retired from General Motors in 1980 with over 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #12186. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, traveling and his family was very important to him. Surviving are: his wife of 60 years, Joan; daughter, Christine Morse-Laverty; son, David Wayne (Robin) Morse; grandchildren, David Michael (Monique) Laverty, Lacey Anne Morse, Lauren Renee' Morse; sister, Donna Whitehead; sisters-in-law, Frances Morse, Bernice Morse, Barbara Morse, Betty Morse. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers and three sisters.
