KENNEDY, Wayne L. Â Age 53, of Fenton went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 after winning the fight against cancer for 32 years. Wayne was a very kind, caring, loving, and tenderhearted man who would never hesitate to help those in need. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Roberta; son, Kevin; daughter, Wendy; daughter-in-law, Sheri; and son-in-law, Jason. Wayne also has 5 grandchildren, Joseph, Tyler, Justin, Katie, and Owen who love him very much. A very special friend, his Lhaso Apso, Buddy who would always lay by his side and will miss him very much as well. Also surviving are: his father, Duane; 4 sisters, Jackie, Cindy, Susie, Pam; 3 brothers, Dean, Jim, and Joe along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret whom he missed very much and is now with her. Wayne proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and later on in life earned his Bachelors degree from Spring Arbor College. He retired from GM after 30 years of service working first at Flint V-8 Engine and later at Power Train Headquarters. In his service to his Lord Jesus Christ, he taught Sunday School at both the Dayton Heights Missionary Church and Davison Missionary Church where he lead his children to accept Jesus as their personal Savior. He loved to sing hymns to God and was also the Song Leader. Wayne, Roberta and all their children would like to give a very special thanks to his brother, Jim and sister-in-law, Linda for their unconditional love and care throughout the years. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, October 31, 2003 at Fenton Church of the Nazarene, 11075 Runyan Lake Rd., Fenton with Pastor Gregg Davis officiating. Interment will be held in Tyrone Memory Gardens where military honors will be performed under the auspices of the Marine Corps League, Flint Detachment. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton.
