ESTEP, Wayne Darrell "Gompy" - Age 74, of Fenton, went home to be with his Lord and savior, Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Burial immediately following at Gardener Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 5-8 PM and 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to a charity of their choice. Wayne was born August 21, 1934 in Kelsey, VA, the son of Joseph and Josephine (Jackson) Estep. He married Christine Elkins May 28, 1955 in Fenton. He has resided in Fenton since 1953, coming from Virginia. Wayne retired from GM Grand Blanc after 43 years of service. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 1292. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, snowmobiler, four wheeler, outdoorsman and musician. He is survived by: wife, Christine; 2 sons, Duane and wife Renay Estep of Grand Blanc, Dale Estep of Fenton; 2 grandsons, Kyle Estep of Grand Blanc and fiancee Julie Fisher and Brent Estep of Grand Blanc; brother-in-law, Donald Elkins of Three Forks, MT; several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
