Wayne L. Burdt

BURDT, Wayne L.  Age 77 of Lennon, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, December 31, 2005 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 8497 W. Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Steven Higley officiating. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be from 6-9 PM Thursday and 2-4 and 6-9 PM on Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Messiah Lutheran Church. Wayne was born May 30, 1928 in Alma, the son of Henry and Gladys (Harmon) Burdt. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a M.P. in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Wayne married Betty Ward on May 15, 1953. He retired from G.M. Turnsted in 1984 and was a charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Swartz Creek. He also loved traveling, hunting and fishing. Surviving are: wife, Betty A. Burdt of Lennon; daughter Linda (Mark) Smith of Holly; 2 grandchildren Kurt and Denise Smith of Holly. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother.
