BUCKLER, Wayne D. - Age 83, of Linden, died Friday, December 25, 2009 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St, Linden, with Pastor Donald Neuville officiating. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 5-9 PM and Monday from 4-9 PM. A V.F.W. Memorial service will be held 7 PM Monday at the funeral home, held under the auspices of Fenton V.F.W. Curtis Wolverton Post #3243. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Adopt-A-Pet or Genesee County Humane Society. Wayne was born October 20, 1926 in Lapeer, the son of William and Gladys (Alexander) Buckler. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Navy. Wayne married Jane Ann Jacobs October 20, 1944 in Flint and she preceded him in death October 28, 2003. He retired from GM Chevrolet Engine Plant. He was a life member of the V.F.W. and a long time member, past vice commander and captain in the honor guard of the Fenton V.F.W. Curtis Wolverton Post #3243. He also was a member of Fenton AmVets and Fenton Eagles. Surviving are: 3 children: Randall and wife Mary Buckler of Linden, Kevin and wife Carol Buckler of Bancroft and Jennifer and husband Joe Hescott of Swartz Creek; 9 grandchildren, Ryan, Randi (Jeramy), Jamie (Dave), Terry, Chase, Brandy, Erin, Brittany and Joey; 2 great grandchildren, Ava and Christian. He was also preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, Terry Buckler (U.S. Marine, PFC) and John Buckler; brother, Donald Buckler.
