Wayne E. Brooks

Wayne E. Brooks, age 86, of Fenton/Linden, passed away February 3, 2025 surrounded by family. Wayne was born in Haiti, Missouri on July 23, 1938. His birth certificate states Arkansas as the nearest doctor was in Arkansas. Eventually the family moved to Flint, Michigan. His early career was spent at General Motors in tool and die and he later moved into sales roles with automotive parts companies. Wayne knew everyone in all the plants around the Flint area. Leveraging these trusted relationships, he and his wife Linda started Wayne Brooks Sales and were very successful together. This success allowed them to enjoy everything retirement should hold. 

Wayne and his wife enjoyed golfing and social events at Spring Meadows Country Club and at The Villages in Florida. Wayne never met someone who didn’t love him as much as his family as he was just that type of man. In addition, they spent many years skiing at Boyne with a place in Lakes of the North and going out west. Wayne’s social events were enhanced by chocolate milk, crème soda, or vodka tonic, depending on the event. 

He is survived by Linda, his wife of 38 years, daughter Suzan Fellabaum (Mike), son Steve (fiancé Kelly), daughters Shellie Smith (Brent) and Diane Heger (Tim). He and Linda were blessed with 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Family was incredibly important to him, and he cherished the time he spent with each of the generations enjoying plenty of smiles and laughter. 

A Celebration of Life will be held May 24 at 11:00 am at Spring Meadows Country Club, 1129 Ripley Road, Linden, MI. Memorial Donations in Wayne’s memory can be made to Tunnels to Towers, www.t2t.org.
