Ward J. Sharon

SHARON, Ward J.  Age 78, of Flint, died July 12, 2004 at his residence. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, July 15, 2004 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth St., Flint, Monsignor Richard Groshek celebrant. Interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 7-9 PM Tuesday, 2-5 and 7-9 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek; and 10 AM until the time of the mass Thursday at the church. A rosary will be recited at 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by a Knights of Columbus Memorial Service. Those desiring may make contributions to McLaren Hospice or St. Pius X Catholic Church. Ward was born March 18, 1926 in Flint the son of Eugene and Philemena (Sayen) Sharon. He had resided in Flint his entire life and was a graduate of Flint Central High School. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Maxine Smith in Flint on December 6, 1947. He retired from G.M. Metal Fab. in 1982. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 8245. Mr. Sharon is survived by: wife Maxine; 2 children, Teresa Sharon of Flint, Thomas and wife Linda Sharon of Flint Township; 3 grandchildren, Jason and fiancee Jamie, Brian and fiancee LeAnne, Eric; sister, Philis Jane Harris of Durand.
