SHARON, Ward J. Â Age 78, of Flint, died July 12, 2004 at his residence. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, July 15, 2004 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth St., Flint, Monsignor Richard Groshek celebrant. Interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 7-9 PM Tuesday, 2-5 and 7-9 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek; and 10 AM until the time of the mass Thursday at the church. A rosary will be recited at 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by a Knights of Columbus Memorial Service. Those desiring may make contributions to McLaren Hospice or St. Pius X Catholic Church. Ward was born March 18, 1926 in Flint the son of Eugene and Philemena (Sayen) Sharon. He had resided in Flint his entire life and was a graduate of Flint Central High School. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Maxine Smith in Flint on December 6, 1947. He retired from G.M. Metal Fab. in 1982. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 8245. Mr. Sharon is survived by: wife Maxine; 2 children, Teresa Sharon of Flint, Thomas and wife Linda Sharon of Flint Township; 3 grandchildren, Jason and fiancee Jamie, Brian and fiancee LeAnne, Eric; sister, Philis Jane Harris of Durand.
