Ward Llewellyn Feather

FEATHER, Ward L. - Age 94, of Burton, passed away, with his family by his side, on June 25, 2023. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, June 29, 2023 at the Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc with Pastor Allen Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 3- 8 PM Wednesday, June 28 and 1 PM Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ward to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).

Ward was born April 13, 1929 in Terra Alta, West Virginia, the son of the late Worley and Naomi Ruth (Seacrist) Feather.  He was a Corporal with the West Virginia National Guard and he married Beverly Ann (Mattingly) on July 2, 1950 in Flint, Michigan. Ward retired from the Fisher Body Grand Blanc Tank Plant in 1983 after nearly 40 years of service and he was a member of UAW 1292.  He was also a member of the Travel Club and the Classic Chevy Club. Ward enjoyed tinkering on just about anything, woodworking, working on cars, family summers at Big Fish Lake, visiting every state with Beverly and he cherished the time that he spent with his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Ann (Edward) Huckabeee; Denise Lynn Rutherford; and Dawn Marie (Jack) Clark. Grandchildren, Cathy (Joe) Nagy; Mike (Sarah) Huckabee; Tonya (Phil) Johnson; Sean (Amanda) Rutherford; Carrie (Dan) Weaver and Cassie Clark. Great-grandchildren, Zachary; Amber (Malcolm); India Rain; Noah, Cooper; Wyatt; Deklan and Henri.  Great-great-grandchild, Leelynn and Riley.  Son-n-law, Jerry Rutherford; nephew, Jeff (Lyn) Mattingly, several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Mr. Feather was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Hazel Feather; wife, Beverly; grandson, Fredrick Ahrns, II; and siblings, Glen, Nelda and Tom.
