Walter York

YORK, Walter Junior - Age 58, of Oscoda formerly of Flint, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, May 22, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 1-8 PM Saturday, 1-8 PM Sunday and 11 AM until the time of service on Monday. Walter was born March 21, 1959 in Flint, the son of Walter Garnie and Kathleen (Clark) York. He was a 1976 graduate of Grand Blanc High School. He managed the Surfside Cottages in Oscoda for many years; he often said that he had the perfect job to share his hobbies of snowmobiling and boating with the guests of the cottages who became his second family. Surviving are: sisters, Julia Stocchi, Nancy (Jerry) VanVeelen, and Glenda (Dave) Bailey; brothers, Sidney (Natalya) York and Paul (Gayle) York; nephew, Curtis Stocchi; and several other nieces and nephews.
